Nashville, TN October 26, 2004 -- On Friday evening, October 22nd, the Childrens Web Music Awards announced their 7th annual winners of The Best childrens product from all over the world. Alan Murdock of SonicTribeEntertainment (STE) noted, We are truly honored that our adventure series for kids was selected as a winner being that we were in a competition that included such well-known products and artists like Beethovens Wig and They Might Be Giants.

According to the website found at www.childrensmusic.org, The Childrens Music Web Awards are the worlds first internet-based entertainment awards for childrens artists, and the only kids entertainment awards truly decided by kids. This is their seventh successful year. Their winners have been publicized on the XM Kids national radio service, in Family Life magazine, and throughout the world via the Internet. They feel, and others agree, that its about time that kids themselves have a voice in honoring childrens recordings.

In fact, after adults have screened the thousands of CDs that the Web Awards committee receives for appropriateness, they are shipped to families, day care centers and schools worldwide from Orlando to Oregon and Singapore to Sydney to be judged by the children themselves. Only product made for infants are completely selected by adults.

STE, a young upstart company, entered their first installment of the Adventures of Jonathan Craine series , titled, The Thing That Goes Bump in the Jungle, in the international competition. They won in both the Best Educational CD for younger children category, and The Best Spoken Word category for older children. Were humbly amazed by the wide age group who enjoy the Jonathan Craine series. We tried to include interesting music and story lines that would appeal to a broad range of kids ages, but we had no idea how successful that strategy would be. Not to mention that its a marketing and sales persons dream to have your product selected by the age groups your targeting not an adult in an office somewhere, noted Alan Murdock, co-owner of STE.

The Thing That Goes Bump in the Jungle is a spoken and musical journey in which, Jonathan Craine, the series only constant character awakes in the middle of a jungle after a family lecture. Jonathan meets several characters along the way that help him find his way home, but also teach him important character-traits. Lionel the Blue Lion represents diversity and as one who has overcome using courage, Orville the Owl teaches him wisdom and in choosing his friends wisely, Mrs. Mouse teaches Jonathan responsibility and integrity, the jungle trees teach Jonathan respect. Sneaky Pete the sinister snake tries his best to undo these valuable character traits throughout the story.

This original story, considered edutainment, makes a unique gift as it has a limited release. The desire of STE was to create a product that would invite children to be a part of the experience and to use their imaginations instead of being spoon-fed everything in a video format. The story was written by Carmen Hauser, the wife of the other half of STE. Mrs. Hauser writes original stories and plays for her students to perform. Last year, Mrs. Hauser was a local Teacher of the Year within the Nashville Metro School system and her students are often selected to perform for special citywide functions like the Mayors Inaugural Address and the national Mayors League of Cities event. This year, shes in temporary retirement due to her pregnancy. Chris Hauser, an accomplished pianist and recording engineer, is also a music teacher and is currently employed at Nashvilles Una Elementary School and has nearly finished his Masters in Music Education from Belmont University. Alan Murdock runs the day-to-day operations of the company, which includes creating specialty music-based product for businesses and supplies many of the voices heard on the Jonathan Craine CD. His background is within the music industry as an operations specialist and sales and marketing manager for international sales. Mr. Murdock has also recently completed a tragic/comedy musical about the conflict between the Separatists and Unionists of Ireland, set during the potato famine, and hopes it will be heading for Broadway soon. Chris Hauser is the co-writer of the score.
